We are now consulting on our Admissions Policy for intake September 2011. This is the same process as we did last year. Attached are the policy and Expression of Interest form

Suggested Authors for Teenage Reading – a guide for Students and Parents

Another very useful source of information on Teenage books is amazon.co.uk where, not only do you get details of the stories, but you can also read reviews

sent in by teenagers who have read the book. They also have “Top 10” lists sent in by readers.

The list is of authors whose books are all very good and very enjoyable - I have given some suggestions of titles but look at others by the same author and

choose one which your child will like.

Coopers has recently applied to increase the number of eating places at college by adding in a new venue to be known as the Snack Shack.  It has

been designed to be used on the lower part of the campus near music. Included will be a canopy to provide covered seating.  We have been given

a grant to cover all the costs by the government.The project proposal had to go to the Bromley planning committee and because of a small

number of objections the project was turned down last June. The Governors are at present appealing this decision and hope to get approval before

the end of term so that the Snack Shack can open for student use in the summer. Once open the Snack Shack will give you another venue to use

to purchase healthy foods and reduce waiting times in our present canteen.  The Snack Shack will be run be our contractors Chartwell's.

Dear Parents and Carers,

Excessive traffic in the lanes outside the College causes congestion that is very inconvenient to the community. If you can avoid drop-offs, collections and parking in these roads,

particularly at peak times then that would be greatly appreciated. If you are dropping off, please drop students off at a safe location in Watts Lane (Tiger’s Head road), reducing

the congestion in Hawkwood Lane.

Closing College Notification

The Principal will consult with the Premise & Site manager and other key staff before making such a decision . The overall decision is based on health and safety for students,

staff and visitors at the College, and also the potential risks in travel to and from College. The criteria used: On-site hazardous conditions; whether enough staff can get in; a

reasonable working temperature can be maintained; whether water is available and the toilets are working satisfactorily and that some form of mid-day meal can be provided.

Please do not assume because it has snowed that College will be closed. If you wake up to significant snow please check:

• the Local Authority’s website
